- The minor recurring character Nicole Robertson is a tilt towards Nicola Roberts
 
- On the viewscreen to the right is a list of starships, one of which is the USS Nadine Coyle. (Ep 1)
 
- Harry Kim's authorisation code is 472 Beta Du-ola.  Duola is "Aloud" spelled backwards. (Ep 3)
 
- The starship FF Filez Permitarden is a mixture of two altered French and Spanish words meaning "Girls Permitted/Allowed" (Ep 16)
 
- The episode "Something Kinda New" is a reference to the song "Something Kinda Ooooh" (Ep 17)
 
- The largest moon of Galax Prime is named "Roberts" again a tilt to Nicola Roberts.
 
 
- Ian Tyson once jokingly suggested making reading while intoxicated illegal, a reference to the Family Guy episode "The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire" (Ep 3)
 
- The smallest moon of Galax Prime is named "Griffin", a reference to the Griffin family.
